The careers programme followed by all students in Years 9,
10 and 11 allows the opportunity for students to:
-
know themselves better
-
be aware of education,
training and career opportunities
-
make decisions about their
future
-
manage transitions to new
roles and situations
The programme provides students with a focus for their
education, and prepares them for life long learning.

In Year 10 all students
have access to a ten-day work experience programme, where they can
develop their skills, strengths, sense of responsibility and
communication skills in the world of work.
Some students follow a very successful work related learning programme
in Key Stage 4, which involves them studying NVQ’s at post 16
colleges. Our students have the opportunity to study vocational
courses such as motor vehicle, engineering, animal care, catering and
hairdressing.
Some of our students have been offered junior apprenticeships as part of
their Key Stage 4 curriculum.
